Project Overview

Pupo is a trust-centered dog walking system that helps busy dog owners feel reassured while their dog is being walked.
By combining a smart collar with a companion app, it makes signs of care visible in real time.

Problem

Once a walk begins, busy dog owners lose visibility, and existing platforms focus on booking and summaries rather than providing reassurance during the walk itself.

Solution

Pupo captures real-time signals such as location and behavior and translates them into calm, glanceable reassurance, surfacing alerts only when action is needed.

Target Audience

Busy urban dog owners with demanding schedules who rely on walkers, along with professionals who value transparency and accountability in their care.

Design Process

In an online survey exploring early interest in dog walking services:

37.5% said they would consider using an app.

62.5% said no — primarily due to trust and cost concerns.

Even those intrigued by convenience expressed hesitation

when handing their pet to someone unfamiliar.

Trust breaks during the walk

Ratings and profiles support selection.
But reassurance must happen in real time.

Problem Framing

Current platforms support selection and scheduling.
But they provide limited reassurance during the walk itself.
The experience gap occurs in real time — not before or after.

Concept

Designing trust for the moments you can’t see

Solution Overview

Trust shifts from assumption to verification

Brand Aesthetics

This mood board focuses on soft colors, hand-drawn lines, and playful compositions to evoke friendliness and trust.

Reflection

As my first interaction design project at ArtCenter, Plant Affection helped me build a clear sense of product structure and interaction logic, and it pushed me to quickly get comfortable with Figma’s workflow and collaborative tools.

Looking back now, I can see that many aspects of the flow—such as task branches, edge cases, and a more complete growth cycle—were still underdeveloped.
If I had the chance to iterate further, I would refine the system more holistically and strengthen the entire experience loop.
